1060 Color-Coated Aluminum Coil For Natural Gas Pipeline Jacketing in Canada

1. Market Background

In North America's industrial protection sector, natural gas pipelines require extremely high weather resistance for jacketing materials due to year-round exposure to outdoor environments. Particularly in Canada, the harsh sub-zero temperatures and industrial corrosive environments pose dual challenges to the coating adhesion and low-temperature toughness of aluminum materials.

2. Client & Application Scenario

  • A leading industrial insulation system integrator in Canada.
  • This batch is used for the exterior jacketing of large-scale natural gas transmission pipelines. The pipes must withstand extreme temperatures below -30℃ in winter and high-intensity UV radiation and salt spray in summer.
  • The client sought a protective material that balances excellent processing flexibility with long-term color consistency and resistance to coating embrittlement.

3. Our Solution

21 tons of 1060 Color-Coated Aluminum Coils. The 1060 pure aluminum substrate ensures physical stability at low temperatures, while a customized weather-resistant coating system addresses long-term reliability concerns.

  • Elongation >= 14%: Ensures synchronous deformation between the coating and the substrate during pipeline coating and bending processing, with no visible microcracks to the naked eye.
  • Thickness Tolerance ± 0.02mm: Ensures precise alignment of the entire roll of material during automated cutting and installation, preventing sealing risks caused by uneven thickness.
  • Tensile Strength 110-130 MPa (1060 O/H14): Ensures sufficient structural support while facilitating easy overmolding.
  • High-performance polyester (PE) or fluorocarbon (PVDF) coatings are adopted, which have passed more than 500 hours of salt spray tests to ensure no fading or peeling in outdoor environments in Canada.

4. Feedback & Summary

  • After receiving the 21 tons of products and completing the initial pipeline installation, the client reported high satisfaction. They specifically noted the coating's stability at bending points, with no signs of "whitening" or peeling.
  • The products arrived at the Port of Vancouver strictly within the contracted lead time, ensuring the client's winter construction schedule remained on track.

5. Conclusion

This collaboration once again demonstrates the reliability of 1060 color-coated aluminum coils in heavy industrial protection. By precisely controlling elongation (>=14%)thickness tolerance (±0.02mm), we have successfully provided stable, long-term technical support for energy infrastructure in cold regions.
